In Metro trains, Electro-pneumatic brakes are blended with dynamic brakes.Brake force is also controlled accordingly to the passenger loading. Training systems cater to building and simulating actual conditions. |

Modern IR coaches come with the controlled discharge toilet systems which operate on PLC logic and are programmed to keep station locations clean. Trainees can alter the PLC mprogram to not only study existing logic but also experiment to improve the system. |

Mechatronics is widely used in all IR production units.Scaled down versions of factory automation and quality control mechanism are demonstrated. This training will not only help the trainees understand the system but also will help them suggest possible improvements. |

140T Gottwald crane with Pneumatic & Hydraulic Circuits controlled through vehicle electronics

The 140T Gottwald Crane is manufactured by IR and consists of complex pneumatic and hydraulic systems coupled with control electronics. Mechatronics Lab has applications for the 140T crane that will be usefull in the maintenance and operation of the crane.
Similarly only Railway application may be used as on exercise in the Mechatronics Lab. |
